By submitting an application and joining this forum you agree to the following rules:
1) No godmoding. Players have the right to narrate and control their own civilization without interference from others. You MAY narrate minor actions consistent with the other player's portrayal of their faction if those actions are inconsequential, done in cooperation with the other player and forward the overall story of the forum.
2) Keep it civil. You =/= Your Nation. Do not take attacks, threats or actions against your nation personally, and remember that this is all a game for fun and enjoyment. If things don't go your way roll with the punches and have fun.
3) Maintain a boundary between In Character and Out of Character knowledge. While precautions have been taken to make sure that out of character knowledge is kept restricted, it is neither practical nor desirable to keep players completely restricted to in-character knowledge. Keep in mind what your characters (particularly your leaders) would and would not know, and avoid acting on knowledge you have but which your characters would not.
4) Respect the setting within reason. By all means, be creative with your Nation, but respect the implicit limitations the rules impose (your civilization is between one and several systems large, your technology is not post-singularity, etc) and try to respect the elements that other players have also contributed. The forum's world is a large, collective project, with pieces added and fashioned by all members.
5) Obey the rules and mechanics of the forum. This should go without saying, but I'm saying it.
6) Stay on topic or in character. This is a Roleplaying forum, not a general gossip forum. Use the chatbox or a thread in the off-topic section if you want to go out of character.
7) Be original. Knockoffs and copies of other science fiction nations, whether popular or not, are not allowed. Distinction will be made between "blatant copying" and "Inspired by."
