The exploratory vessel Ancion drifted through space towards the rumored home of the Kwazan conglomerate, in their efforts to build up their internal infrastructure, the Admiralty board had sent Commander Miran on an ambassadorial mission to Kwazan to seek out further trade with the outside galaxy.
As the Ancion drifted closer to the planet in-system Miran activated the broadband communications.
"Hail representatives of the Kwazan conglomerate, the Denovan Admiralty has sent me on an ambassadorial mission to speak with your people."

"Welcome to Kwazan, ambassador. You have priority clearance to the direct government docks. Please approach section 11736 on your left, we have a guidance band on frequency 2230958." The space traffic controller replied. "Priority Clearance" turned out to be an understatement - traffic control had shunted entire lanes to give the Denovan ship a route to their dock with minimum wait, and the dock itself was a direct-access, giving them access to the surface and orbital settlements without passing through the bother of long waits and customs.
A Kwazan delegate was waiting for the party when they disembarked. She bowed formally. "On behalf of the Conglomerate, welcome to Kwazan. I am ambassador Miatwane Ikosi Wikwana."

Commander Miran was escorted only by a pair of marines in casual BDU, the Commander himself was in full dress uniform, short brown hair with his horns covered by his hat. He briefly snapped to attention before the ambassador before relaxing, sizing the delegate for a moment.
"Ambassador Mikwana, a pleasure, I am Commander Drihua Miran, of the Admiralty, I've been sent here to discuss the potential for open trade with the Conglomerate."

"The Kwazan Conglomerate is always interested in new trade partners." Mikwana bowed, not suppressing a somewhat cocky smile. After several missions to far-flung planets to negotiate with relatively hostile powers, serving as ambassador on Kwazan was a plum job she had seized without hesitation. "Please, follow me." She led the delegate through a series of hallways and through a large doorway. Behind the doorway was a spacious room with blank furnishings. A small garden grew in the center, illuminated by a skylight. Several doors led to auxiliary rooms on either side.
"This is our temporary embassy." Mikwana explained. "Or the upper floor, at least. There are full accommodations for a mission. It is at your disposal for as long as you wish to stay here, or until a more permanent embassy can be arranged." She took a seat at the table. "I've heard a lot about the Denovan Admiralty; by all reports your government has been isolationist for years. What brings you to Kwazan now?"

Miran gave a slight shrug of his shoulders, the minor break from isolation had been a debated topic among the Admirals but their reasoning was sound. Still he wasn't completely comfortable with it, this entire embassy was far too ornamental for his taste. He was used to the austere offices of home.
"The Admiralty needs more credits for naval and infrastructural endeavors. Trade is the easiest way to bring in more, at least until we have a more stable economy at home." He reached into his pocket for a small datapad and offered it to the ambassador.
"Our trade facilities are currently unfinished but by the next galactic cycle they will be ready to receive trade shipments."

Mikwana reviewed the information on the datapad. It was, so far as she could tell, a standard proposal for an open trade agreement. "I see." She admitted. "If you want trade you've come to the right place. The Kwazan Conglomerate is an international hub of trade, and unlike some nations we have no policy of interfering in the internal affairs of our partners." An obvious jab at the RWU, but also a strong selling point for the Denovans. The Admiralty might feel more comfortable signing an agreement if they had assurances that there would be no interference beyond that.

Miran smiled slightly, no more than a slight upward twitch of his lips before nodding and extending a hand to shake as was customary in many such business meetings, or so he'd heard. Saluting was more formal and what he was used to but the delegate was not his superior in rank and it was likely safer to go this way.
"More than acceptable, the Admiralty wants little and less of galactic politics, as long as trade is uninterrupted we are happy."

"Wonderful." Mikwana replied, rather relieved at the prospect of a fast and easy agreement instead of days of intense haggling in a hostile environment. "Kwazan trade facilities are open and more are earmarked for construction. We will reserve facilities to be available when the Admiralty has completed its own projects."
