Nation Name:
The United States of Dalaarian Freedom and Liberty
Government:
Plutocracy
Description:
Officially, there is no government for the people of Dalaaria. For centuries now, there has not been a need for police forces, public works projects, and the like, thanks to technological innovations that allowed various processes to be automated. However, in reality there are seven corporations that control virtually every aspect of citizens' lives. One corporation, FoodnBev controls the entire process of food production, another, Dominus Entertainment, controls a vast media empire, and so on. These seven companies have conglomerated by collusion to unofficially rule over all the citizens.
Species:
Human
Description:
The Dalaarians are one of the most disgusting races in the galaxy. Ever since technological advancements replaced manual labor, the populace has become obese, traveling anywhere on mechanical chairs, living life through metal homonculi. The robots go to work, socialize, and do everything else for the people they represent. As a consequence of their lifestyle, Dalaarians live shorter than average lifespans compared to other humans. Those in charge of the major corporations, however, utilize nanobot technology to clean their blood and live much longer lives.
Homeworld:
Dalaaria
Description:
Dalaaria is a sprawling megalopolis. Except for vast swathes where crops are harvested by FoodnBev, the surface of the planet is covered by industry and commercial buildings. The skyline is punctuated by towering buildings and massive stadiums, and trade and transport causes ships to continually fly in an incessant hum.

History:
The Dalaarian system was colonized my centuries ago. Originally established with a democratic government, the populace, originally spread throughout the planet and sequestered from one another, developed a highly independent and libertarian outlook. As such, over the years the government lost more and more influence as technological innovation in the colony flourished. Inventors and corporate CEO's were venerated while public officials were mocked in the streets. Eventually, the government was abolished all together as the people took justice and other matters into their own hands. It was during this time that the Corporate Wars began. Planet-wide civil war broke out as the wealthiest companies used their vast wealth to hire mercenaries to destroy their rivals. Inevitably, over decades of conflict, the once powerful corporations that started the war had spent themselves to bankruptcy, while the largest military hiring group, Hands of Justice LLC, was able to use its built up wealth to dominate over every other company. It hand-picked companies to oversee other aspects of civilian life, such as food, money, and entertainment. However, by ending the conflict from which it was profiting so highly, Hands of Justice LLC slowly lost its dominance over the other companies, and soon the 6 other companies it established achieved similar levels of wealth and influence. Fearing another war, the companies made a pact, working together to control the populace rather than fight for complete ownership. Since that time, life has flourished on Dalaaria, and the populace has been successfully pacified, as the euphemistically named "United States of Dalaarian Freedom and Liberty" seeks to make more money as it stakes its place in the galaxy.
Culture:
The vast majority of the population is completely consumed with the various options of media provided to them. Whether it be robo-sporting events or celeb-robo gossip, most Dalaarians do not put any effort into things of importance or substance. In contrast, those with enough gumption to make it up the ranks of a major corporation receive intense education and training so as to be the best in their business.
(I might add more to flush the whole thing out, just want to get it up right now)
