Another Shipyard Issue

I just want to see what everyone thinks about a situation that just came up concerning shipyards and the 25% discount. This is assuming I'm not using the upkeep feature and want to build a ship with the discount. If I were to build 4 ships at a time would it be feasible to only pay for 3 of them?
(I apologize in advance for the remainder of this post but I'm just trying to give an example of my logic behind this question.)
My instinct says yes but I'm no math expert and could very well be wrong.
Here's my thought process on this. Let's say the ship costs 6 credits, 15 industry, and 5 science. We use full numbers here (but if we don't have to it solves this whole issue) so I will never get an actual 25% discount on this ship.
- 6 Credits is reduced by either 1 or 2, which is either 1/6th or 1/3rd
- 15 Industry is reduced by either 3 or 4, which is either 1/5th or actually really close to 25%
- 5 Science is reduced by either 1 or 2, which is 1/5th or 2/5ths
The common trend among those numbers is that one of them are an even 25%, only one of them even comes close.
I can accept taking that hit if we're building one or two ships at a time.
However this Shipyard is supposed to offer a 25% discount.
So if instead of doing all of the above math, I purchase 4 ships at 25% off, wouldn't I be paying for three ships?
- 6 credits x 4 ships = 24 credits. 25% of 24 = 6.
- 15 industry x 4 ships = 60 industry. 25% of 60 = 15
- 5 science x 4 ships = 20 science. 25% of 20 = 5
In this scenario the cost of the ships would total 24 credits, 60 industry, and 20 science.
At a 25% discount shouldn't my new total be 18 Credits, 45 Industry, and 15 science?
