As the Atraxis exited warp it was greeted by an outright deluge of short-range homing missiles from the aptly named Hate Sphere, such as might have destroyed a battleship. Yet in a maneuver that would go down in history, the Atraxis managed to weave its way through the volley, dodging thousands of missiles in a high-speed chase that left it completely unscathed. The scout ship served the Coalition fleet well, giving them advanced warning and allowing the fleet to warp in as a united front, ready to fast the monster before it.
The new Rak'Nix class Titan was the first of its kind in the galaxy: a warship the size of a large asteroid, miles in diameter. It was several times the size of any single coalition ship, and bristling with missile bays and intense shielding. It was the Hive's answer to the coalition now coming against it, and a potent one. Hidden away on its flanks, two small Hive destroyers complimented the beast's power with maneuverability and point defenses.
ORDER OF BATTLE
Coalition Commander: Vice Admiral Aleshka Makovan (Admiral Agent) -- Orbital Commander: This admiral is skilled at manipulating orbital trajectories and upper atmospheric conditions to her advantage. Slight combat bonus when commanding ships in or near planets.
Union of Asteron 1 Liberty Class Light Carrier (Galiani) 1 Malthus Heavy Cruiser (Pride of Asteron) 1 Sentinel Class Destroyer (Victory)
Denova 1 Malthus Heavy Cruiser (Admoniter) 1 Phirn Class Fast Attack Frigate (Atraxis)
Viscarri 1 Hammer Class Frigate (VIN Storm Brother) 2 Longbow Class Destroyers (Artemis, Apollo)
Hive Unity Commander: Forged-In-Hatred-Absolute (Admiral) 1 Rak'Nix Class Titan (Hate Sphere) 2 Rak'Chil Class Destroyers
TURN ORDER Coalition (Asteron, Denova, Viscarri) Hive Unity Modmark
NOTES Since Denova has the leadership position, only Denova is required to post for the coalition. Other coalition members may post their own actions if they wish to clarify or take actions different from Denova's orders Wuxian/Rusevian forces have mis-timed their jump due to communication errors and lack of FTL. They will only be able to join the battle on the 3rd modmark. The Hive forces are waiting outside the jump point and will be in short range of the arriving forces.

Aboard the Admoniter's bridge, klaxons sounded as the bridge crew manned their stations with grim discipline. The Atraxis had given them the warning they needed to come out ready and swinging. Admiral Makovan stared out at the Titan before her, the ship was massive and reminded her well enough of the space monster that had devastated her fleet the first time.
"Signal the fleet prepare to engage, link up with the Pride of Asteron and give the order, fire the dorsal cannons immediately, I want firing solutions for our torpedo bays and mass drivers the minute the shots hit I want those torpedo's hitting immediately afterwards. Signal the Artemis and Apollo to link their torpedo bays with ours and the Storm Brother is to bombard with their mass drivers."
She pressed a key on her command interface and continued, "Signal the Galiani to launch those stealth bombers, send them for those missile bays, I need them crippled or we're done for, their fighters and interceptors are to stay docked until we clear those destroyers. Atraxis, and Victory, focus on those destroyers but steer clear of those missile bays"
After a moment of consideration she signaled the Victory, "Get your marines ready for a boarding action, we'll cripple that Titan and give you a clear entry."
She could feel the ship turning to face the massive Titan, though with its massive size they didn't need to turn far. "Admoniter, Pride of Asteron, Storm Brother, focus all point defense guns on incoming missiles, hit them hard and fast."
---
The Admoniter, and Pride of Asteron fire their dorsal cannons at the Titan followed by bombardments from their torpedo bays and mass drivers with the Storm Brother doing the same. All three ships focus point defenses to create an overlapping field of fire against incoming missiles.
The Artemis and Apollo use their torpedo bays to bombard the Titan after the 2 dorsal cannon shots staying out of range against the Titan's missiles.
The Atraxis and Victory will skirt around the Titan and engage the enemy destroyers, focusing on creating an opening for the Victory's marines to board the Titan.
The Galiani will launch bombers only and stay away from combat, the bombers goal will be to cripple enemy missile bays and engines if possible.

‘’ FIRE! ‘’ The Pride of Asteron buckled her dorsal cannons unleashed a salvo on the massive ship, joining her sister ship, the Admoniter in the barrage. The Asteran Fleet was pouring all of its firepower into taking down the beast, leaving the smaller destroyers for the Viscarri and Denovan frigates. Torpedoes were being primed and readied, firing solutions plotted. Yet the Asteran’s had one card left up their sleeves…
‘’ Send in the bombers.. ‘’Commodore Trask growled. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ‘’ GAME OVER! GAME OVER MAN! DID YOU SEE THE SIZE OF THAT THING!? WE’RE FUCKIN DEAD! ‘’ Barwin wailed as his comrades strapped him down in his seat.
‘’ Shut your fucking mouth corporal! ‘’ Gunnery Sergeant Harvin snarled, backhanding the unruly marine. He then returned to feeding his shotgun fresh shells as the rest of the platoon scrambled aboard the shuttle craft. Hundreds of marines were boarding launch craft aboard the Victory armed for a boarding action. It was going to get ugly very quickly.
‘’ We ain’t dead yet. ‘’ There was a crazy gleam in Harvin’s eye.
‘’ The flyboys are gonna blow a hole in for us. Now providing we make it in one piece…’’ He said, scratching at the scar that ran down his jaw before continuing with his brief.
‘’ The Commodore wants us to breach the Titan, reach her core, and set off charges. We’re gonna kill this fat bitch from the inside out! Now strap up! We lift off in sixty seconds! ‘’ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ‘’ HARPY SQUADRON! Form up on me! ‘’ Lucius Trask, callsign Thunder, guided his bomber into formation alongside his commander, Colonel Harper. It had been over a decade since the Captain had left Griswold Academy for the Navy and now the son of Titus Trask had a chance to show his father his mettle.
The Thunderhawk Stealth Bomber was one of the most advanced spacecraft in the galaxy. It’s unique shape and miniaturized cloaking devices allowed it to deflect heat and sensors alike. It’s potent internal hardware of Shrike ‘’ ship wreck ‘’ missiles were designed to gut the hulls of battleships. Hopefully they would work just as well on Titans…
‘’ FIRST SALVO AWAY! ‘’ Trask watched the glint of torpedoes leave the Pride of Asteron and Victory. The small fast and agile missiles were heading right towards the Titan. The stealth bombers were following in right after them. It was hoped that the torpedoes would draw the bulk of the enemy point defense fire, letting the two squadrons of stealth bombers do their work. They would be followed in turn by Colonel Halleck’s squadron of fighter-bombers and a small horde of marines that would exploit any holes in the shields that the stealth bombers, dorsal cannons, and torpedoes managed to make.
SUMMARY: -- The Asteran’s fire everything they have at the Titan warship. Asteran command is counting on dorsal cannons and torpedoes blowing a hole in the enemy shields, before bombers and marines exploit the breach.
-- X 2 INTERCEPTOR squadrons have been placed on COMBAT AIR PATROL (CAP). They will move to intercept oncoming missiles, working in conjunction with the Galiani’s point defenses . -- X 2 Stealth Bombers, 1 Fighter Bomber squadron are making an attack run on the Titan
-- Followed by 1 group of marines for a boarding action

The First-Star-of-Hostility flexed its great mandibles and limbs as new sacrificial bugs queued up to sacrifice themselves in a volly of furieous explosion throughout the super structure. As the first wave of blows struck, space distorted slightly as the great shields projecting its psyonic carapace deflected and absorbed its preys attacks. It pushed forward the great mental reactors and began to move, twisting through the great reaches of space as mental threads of projected fire paths and vectors of movement through the pitch black fray.
Hatred itself glared in furry at the ship that dared dodge its attack. But the heart of its attention was upon the Enemy.
Asteron was here.
The destroyers where upon them.
The course was set.
And Asteron would burn. ----------- Summary:
Rak'Nix [The First-Star-of-Hostility]( aka The Hate Sphere) -Three missile slots target the Asteron Carrier as it attempts to spew out varios fighter craft. --Note: Fighters can't have jump drives, so i'm assuming they would have to start in the carrier. -Atraxis, Victory, are being targed by the titan for approaching -The First Star commences tactical evasive maneuvers, avoiding Dorsal Cannon attacks in particular. -[First Star] strategic movements are simply to sabotage enemy maneuvers while maintaining close contact with the enemy. -Titan willingly interposes itself for its smaller ships, deflecting the blast with its shields when necessary.
2x Rak'Chil -Both Target the Atraxis and Victory freely, who are attempting to engaging them. (Meaning they are being targeted by both these and the [First-Star] -Both smaller vessels make defensive maneuvers on behalf of the First-Star-of-Hostility, using PD to support it when able.(And prioritizing marines/strike craft for destruction, and in that order) -They use the 'hate sphere' as a defensive element much like drones hiding behind a warrior ant.

Modmark
The opening shots of the battle were chaotic. The Titan wisely focused its fire on the Galiani carrier, intent on crippling it before its cargo of deadly fighter craft and bombers could depart. Hundreds of swarming missiles slammed into the side of the ship, battering many fighters and bombers before they could accelerate to speed, or trapping them inside their bays as the launch catapults were destroyed in a deluge of explosions. The Galiani listed and rocked from the force of the explosion, a great tear left open in its side, but the ship survived and its engines were as operable as ever.
But while the hive's living missiles went for the carrier, the coalition's capital ships were not inactive. Lining up their powerful dorsal cannons, they unleashed a carefully timed volley of dorsal blasts followed by heavy torpedoes. The titan attempted evasive maneuvers, but they were difficult to achieve quickly with its great bulk. One dorsal shot missed, but another shot from the cannons achieved a glancing blow across the upper hull which was quickly followed by the impact of several torpedoes. The damage caused the titan's shields to flicker as one of its shield generators burned out, but the ship itself was intact.
On the Titan's flanks ships rushed forward to engage of Hive destroyers, but the Titan was guarding its companion ships. They kept close to the enormous vessel, and as the Atraxis and the Victory approached more missiles launched at them. The Victory took a brunt of missiles to the side. Fires broke out in the ship itself, and the reactor leaked critically. The ship was dead in space, easy pickings for the hive destroyer. The Atraxis fared both better and worse - it dived and evaded the Titan's missile swarm, trading shots with the Hive destroyer. Both light ships had fine gunners: the Atraxis' beam cannon sliced into the Rak'Chil's center and destroyed the creature's brain, just before one of a dozen missiles managed to hit the destroyer in its exhaust valve, causing a critical reaction that resulted in the destroyer exploding into a ball of flames.
With Asteron's vaunted bomber squadrons out of commission, the bombing runs of the fighter squadron were mostly ineffective. The Interceptors stood ready to run interference, defending the capital ships against missile swarms that never came.
Union of Asteron 1 Liberty Class Light Carrier (Galiani) (HEAVILY DAMAGED -2 BOMBER SQUADRONS, -2 DEFENSE) 1 Malthus Heavy Cruiser (Pride of Asteron) 1 Sentinel Class Destroyer (Victory) (HEAVILY DAMAGED -3 SPEED, -2 BEAM CANNONS)

Viscarri 1 Hammer Class Frigate (VIN Storm Brother) 2 Longbow Class Destroyers (Artemis, Apollo)
Hive Unity Commander: Forged-In-Hatred-Absolute (Admiral) 1 Rak'Nix Class Titan (Hate Sphere)(MINOR DAMAGE -2 DEFENSE)
2 1 Rak'Chil Class Destroyer
TURN ORDER Coalition (Asteron, Denova, Viscarri) Hive Unity Modmark
NOTES Since Denova has the leadership position, only Denova is required to post for the coalition. They will only be able to join the battle on the 3rd modmark. Ranges are very close, all weapons are firing with no accuracy penalties. Coalition capital ships are in a tight formation meant to defend against missile barrages

"Signal the fleet, fire the dorsal cannons again and mark the locations of those missile launches, all ships are to fire their torpedoes at those missile points. The Storm Brother is to use her mass drivers the same. Signal the Pride of Asteron to focus her mass drivers against that destroyer the minute it shows itself." Now was not the time to panic, not yet, the battle was far from over.
"Maam, the Victory is completely offline, her engines aren't going anywhere." her ensign reported from his post.
"Order the Victory to set any remaining weapons to auto fire against the destroyer and to abandon ship. The Titan's other flank is exposed now, they're to begin boarding actions, the fighters will act as a screen to give them an insertion point. The Galiani is to retreat behind the main battle line to safety and to use their point defenses to augment ours." The Galiani needed to be kept intact if at all possible but those point defenses would be too useful against the enemy right now.
---
Coalition fleet continues firing all weapons against the Titan with Torpedo bays and mass drivers specifically focusing on enemy missile bays.
Pride of Asteron turns their mass drivers against the enemy destroyer but does not break formation.
Galiani interceptors run CAP against enemy missiles alongside Coalition point defenses.
The Victory is to be abandoned as its remaining weapons are set to auto-fire against the destroyer. Her crew will move to the Pride of Asteron.
Victory marines will move against the Titan's exposed flank in an attempt to board. Galiani fighters will act as a screen to help them board.
The Galiani will move with all speed to behind the main fleet formation and augment their point defenses to the fleets while staying out of cover as much as possible.

Pain coursed its way through the First-Star-of-Hostility as one of its psionic adversion fields stuttered and collapsed undernieth the piercing blow of the enemy slugs.
The dull throb as the dedicated brain structure pulsed as the flesh boiled under the plasmatic blast of torpedos. soceted into the flesh before the other organs shifted themselves to cover already hardening flesh. Chemicial signals from the damage triggering the sealing of the flesh against the void mass of flesh scrapped and burned out from the now missing section.
Hatred Shifted its focus from itself to objects of its spite.
Only one ship so far had been consumed by its glorious wrath, yet another was firing unintelligently upon its remaining drone drone its internal drones fleeing it in a disgusting lack of unity. Unwilling to sacrifice their pitiful lives for the goal at hand. They would regret their utter disregard for the proper order. Lastly it noted tiny vessel continued moving across the void from the victory for what it did not know, but it was closely flanked by the tiny nymph-like fighters moving "protecting" them.
Asteron the Corrupter, the most evil foe the hive had ever met, the would be Queen slayer, would burn in its wrath.
For they have threatened the Queens. They will not be forgiven.
============== Summary:
Both ships actively move away from the contingent of marines slowly attempting to approach in their maneuvers.
[Rak'Chil] -Retains previous turns protection protocols, using its PD to help the [FiSt] defend itself. The smaller vessel focusing on using its PD to protect the larger ship.
-Remaining Destroyer moves its tiny hull to the FAR side of several Km [Fist]. Removing the Victories ability to target it, as the enemy vessel is forced now sit unmanned, immobile, and automated.
-[Forged-in-Hatred-Absolute] uses the [FiSt] sensors to plot targeting algorithms to allow for "rabbit-hole" tactics where [Rak'Chil] pops out, fires its barrage, and then returns behind the [FiSt].
-Rak'Chil targets the Malthus H.Cruiser (Admoniter) with 1 missile.
[Fist] -Rak Nix MOVES to avoid the dorsal cannons as its primary objective.
-Rak'Nix targets the Malthus H.Cruiser (Admoniter) with 2 Missile to have it targeted by (Having to defend against 2 ships at once if it matters.)
-Rak'Nix targets the Malthus Heavy Cruiser (Pride of Asteron) is targeted with 2 missiles -Rak'Nix targets the Hammer Class Frigate (VIN Storm Brother) with 1 missile.

"Maam, point defenses are down, engines have taken a hit but they're still operational and our mass drivers are down, but enemy destroyer is gone." The damage was significant but with the destroyer gone, the Titan having taken significant damage and their fleet still mostly intact she was confident of their chances.
"Order the fleet, all ships open fire, hit it with everything you've got, press the attack, reroute our engine power to shields and fire the dorsal cannons and torpedoes."
The time for maneuvering was done, now was the time to destroy that ship as soon as possible. ---
Allied opens fire on the Titan with all weapons to destroy it as soon as possible

The First Star recognized the danger. Large, powerful cannons were trained on its hull, threatening to tear it apart. Evasive maneuvers were set, but the previous damage proved too costly. As the First Star began its trajectory out of the way of the cannons, a large chunk of the ship was torn apart by the dorsal cannon shots. Bits of bugs could be seen, freezing in the cold depth of space as the Titan began falling in on itself. Even in this state, however, the Hive would continue their single-minded goal. The guns that could still fire on the First Star found their targets - the Galiani, closing in on the dying ship, was unprepared for the onslaught of fire coming its way, the ship torn apart by the Titan's fire. The Pride of Asteron, as well, was hit by several shots, but only suffered minimal damage to its hull. However, the remaining ships continued to rip apart the Titan's hull with focused firepower, and with that, the First-Star-of-Hostility shuddered its last, all life on the ship, including the ship itself, ceased.
The Coalition didn't have time to celebrate victory quite yet, however. The remaining Rak'Chil defense drone, deftly avoiding the automated fire from the Victory but unable to defend the Titan in time, turned its attention towards the Admonitor. In a flurry of precise gunfire, the Rak'Chil crippled the Admonitor's main engine, making any significant space travel impossible without major repairs. In the end, however, the Coalition's fleet remained victorious, with more reinforcements about to arrive to continue the assault.
SUMMARY -- First-Star-of-Hostility destroyed. -- Galiani destroyed. -- Pride of Asteron suffers minor damage (-1 DEFENSE) -- Admonitor's engine crippled (Repairs necessary to allow it to continue forward) -- Rak'Chil drone can choose to retreat, or continue an assault, essentially a suicide mission -- Wuxianese and Rusevian reinforcement arrive, and can participate in future battles
COALITION VICTORY
