A diplomatic vessel from the Empire of Wuxian had traveled to the Asteron homeworld with the Imperial Prelate and his underlies to continue the conversion work of Asteron to the benevolent Yuyan's worship. He had done much to help the people of Asteron and it was seen by the Ministry of Rites and, indeed, the rest of the Bureaucracy that the best way to do that was to offer the enlightenment that came with the Yuyan's kindness. Along with the Prelates came another ambassador though unlike his companions in nearly every way except his devotion to the Yuyan; Imperial Marshall Tse Tak-Sohng. The Marshall, Minister of Defense to the Six Ministries, had been sent with the distinct purpose to sway the Asteron government to the best course of action: a plan he himself had come up with seeing the similarities he felt between himself and the ascendant AWP. With this very goal in mind a request for discourse was put forward by the diplomatic vessel's crew to have diplomatic discourse with the famed Lukien Saratoga, Party Chairman of the AWP.
"Most-Respected representatives of the Honorable Asteron; this is a formal request for diplomatic discussion with honored Party Chairman Lukien Saratoga in the name of the Divine Yuyan and His Enlightened Bureaucracy. Imperial Marshall Tse Tak-Sohng patiently awaits your reply."

The Asteran Workers Party had gone from the heights of power to crashing down to the depths of the earth. It's membership had dwindled in those dark years but Lukien Saratoga had labored to rebuild his parties image and refill its ranks. The conservatives continued to view the Yuyan, despite his perceived benevolence, with suspicious if not outright hostility. After all, it had been the Kwazan-Wuxian coalition that had enabled the ANF to seize power with foreign funding.
Meanwhile, the Yuyan's religious beliefs were perceived as a threat to traditional Asteran cultural values. Nevertheless, important things were happening on Asteron. Her political parties were at eachothers throats, President Sidow was on the precipice, and the PUF was at Saratoga's mercy. He would be the Kingmaker in this election, it just depended on whom he would make his bed with. A shuttle was dispatched carrying the Party Chairman and several Asteran elected officials towards the waiting diplomatic vessel.
'' Marshal Tse Tak-Sohng. '' Saratoga said in greeting. His hard blue eyes, like chips of ice, coming to bore holes into his counterpart. '' I bring greetings on behalf of all Asteran's. What brings you to our homeland?''

Tse Tak-Sohng raised his hands up in front of his body, right hand wrapped around the fist of his left in traditional Wuxianese salute, as he was faced with his counterpart from Asteron. The Imperial Marshall, as was common for him, had come dressed in a Wuxianese powered-hardsuit with the dermalplates removed to reveal only the artificial musculature with traditional Yiuen robes loosely worn over the armor itself. A single display of light projected from his right eye implant flashed before him as a form of display while his left eye remained unmodified; the perfect defense the offensive gaze of Saratoga.
"Respected Chairman," replied Sohng as he lowered his hands to his side, "Your greetings are most welcome. In his infinite wisdom the Divine Yuyan has given me the freedom to speak on his behalf to see the Asteron remains stable. I specifically requested such an opportunity be granted to me; in your people I see a kindred spirit, a ferocious soul your nation exemplifies. When I heard the military was ascendant once more I saw opportunity. I wish to discuss your options and offer an enlightened path that will be most beneficial for your wise rule."

Ah yes, the military was ascendant now that the Wuxian-Kwazan boot heel had not sought to crush Saratoga's chances to be President. The Chairman pursed his lips and returned the salute with an Asteran one, a closed fist pressed against his breast. '' Marshal. The position of the AWP in the upcoming government is secure. It is only a matter of whom we choose to make our coalition with. The voters have made it clear that they want security and national sovereignty respected. I mean to give it to them. Any words of guidance that the Yuyan would offer, I would be keen to hear. '' But not necessarily to follow. For too long Asteron had been the plaything of foreign powers, such a position under Saratoga's watch would not last.

"I am most pleased to hear such a position is held dear to your heart," replied the Marshall as he continued, "The actions of the Chancellery in supporting the ANF was a mistake; our wise Chancellor believed the RWU to not have your nation's best interests at heart and that is why we aided the Kwazans in supporting them. At the time, your own party had been under represented and was not a viable party to raise above that of the PUF. However, we are past such times. The Yuyan would see you bring the PUF to your side and embrace a new, different form of Syndicalism which is beholden to no one but Asteron. In Wuxian we have succeeded at such an action, sparing our Enlightened Bureaucracy the woes of dealing with the idealistic and aggressive RWU's influence.
If you could cement yourself as at least a partially syndicalist society, as we have with syndicalism being offered to those who farm and work the factories, it would appease the RWU and allow you to organize the system yourself. In Wuxian, all elected officials by the unions become Imperial Bureaucrats with distinct roles and rules in the government. This is, of course, highly effective. However, I have no intent to tell you how to run your country, only offer possible paths. I can, however, assure you this. As you well know, a growing population of your people follow the Fundamental Truth. Their loyalty, and votes, can be assured by following an agenda seen as parallel to their faith. Do not forget that those nations that have the same ideals as the Yuyan at heart are known to receive a great deal of economic aid when the Secretariat addresses the yearly budget; a strong Asteron is a bulwark against all sorts of horrors."

'' Good Marshall, we have always had a partially syndicalist society. Chairman Galiani was not blind, but what he would not accept and what we will not accept is the Ayar constantly butting their noses into our affairs with demands. We are at the point, again, in less than three years of war. I would much rather fulfill my campaign promise to my people of taking action against the Hive then our former brethren. But this radical party in power within the RWU has given me no choice. Their agents constantly attempt to mobilize our own people against us. '' Not that Saratoga was keen for war with the RWU, despite his fiery rhetoric. Whoever attacked first in effect would lose. Both sides had equal parity when it came to military strength and were firmly entrenched in their own systems with enough guns to turn any invading fleet to slag. '' Why should I attempt detente again when it failed first when the army organized elections and then under Sidow? ''

"Because now, Most-Respected Chairman, the Yuyan's Enlightened Bureaucracy steps to your drums. The Chancellor opposed a firmly RWU controlled Asteron then and the entire Bureaucracy does so now. Though the Yuyan holds the RWU close to his heart, this is only because he is infinitely benevolent. The pragmatic view shared by the Chancellor and myself, as well as many within His Bureaucracy, is that the capitalists and the RWU should not have dominion over Asteron; the Asteran people should. The Yuyan will speak with the PUF and their RWU organizers to push them into this alliance, unsteady as it is, with the Asteran faithful seeing this as an endorsement by the Yuyan for the AWP. If the PUF or the RWU doesn't comply then they will lose face in the eyes of the faithful here in Asteran as they would have ignored the Yuyan's desires."

'' And what of troops to contribute against the Hive? The people call for revenge and I aim to give it to them. I have grown weary of attempting to forge a coalition. The '' alliance '' is constantly bickering amongst itself. No, Asteron will have to attack the Hive soon. The time for half measures is over. What contributions can the Great Yuyan provide towards the invasion force? ''

"With my military reforms fully underway I will be able to provide you with a fleet of frigates and as many armies as need to be mustered; many suffered during the Hive's assault and even the Divine Yuyan has spoke ill of the creatures. The planet will be a good testing ground for the New Model Army, as well. However, for these reforms to come into full effect, we will need to be given a time table in which to act upon."

'' My Generals tell me three years. Optimally, I would have a timetable of two. '' It was not an easy task to raise a force of millions of troops, to organize ships, supplies, and gather allies for a massive invasion. But with the might of the military behind him and at last free of the meddling PUF, then Saratoga believed that his goal could indeed be made possible.

"A more than acceptable timetable," commented the Imperial Marshall before following up, "Do you intend to allow others to support your military actions beyond the Empire?"

'' If they wish, but the operation will no longer be dependent on foreign forces. The Asteran people are tired of waiting for justice. I intend for this offensive to happen within the next three years, even if I have no foreign support beyond the Wuxian. '' From his discussions with the Denovans and depending on how many troops the Wuxian's were willing to commit, it seemed the bulk of the troops that would be on the ground would be Asteran. Which suited Lukien Saratoga just fine.
