Vorcia: Asteran Army General Headquarters
Political upheaval and the chaos of war had contributed to the fact that the triumvirate of nations that had come together to defeat the Hive had been unable to land a killing blow. The weed had been killed but the root remained and it would only grow, spread, and kill other organics if it was given a chance. It was thus that the Asteran Military moved forward with its plans for military operations. General Kruger, joined by several other military strongmen organized a military to military meeting with the purposes of discussing joint operations. Politics were being left at the door (for the moment). There was nothing more than Kruger wanted than to settle things with the RWU but for the moment, now was not the time. Emissaries had been sent to the RWU, the Viscarri Empire, and the Denovan Fleet. The Kwazan and Wuxian had also been invited to send emissaries to observe the proceedings. Now it remained to be seen whom was to answer the call to arms?

Vice Admiral Aleshka Makovan had been sent to represent Denovan interests in the region. She had not liked getting involved in foreign affairs but she could see the benefit the Admiralty was seeking and if nothing else she was loyal to the bone to Denova and the Admiralty. She stepped into the meeting room in her full dress uniform as fitting an officer of her rank. With her was Lieutenant Katarina, from Naval Intelligence. She gave a prompt, textbook salute to Kruger and moved to her seat, Katarina following.

For some time the Hive had become a notable blip on the Bureaucracy's radar as a threat to galactic regional security. In response to recent pushes within the Three Departments and to new legislation put forward by the Secretariat the Wuxianese Bureaucracy, with the full approval and blessing of the divine Yuyan, ordered Imperial Marshall Tse Tak-Sohng. The Marshall, aboard the original Nezha-I class Destroyer, travelled to the deisgnated location put forward by the Asteran Army Command in the invitation offered to the Wuxianese government. Surprisingly, Sohng attended the meeting on Vorcia in a stripped down Wuxianese hardsuit, lacking the durable plates that made up the suit's protective capabilties but with the artificial musculature provided by the suit fully revealed. As was common for Officers in the field, Sohng wore bureaucratic robes befitting his station over his hardsuit.
"Most-Respected General Kruger," chanted the Marshall as he gave a Wuxianese salute with right hand wrapped around the fist of his left, "The Most-Benevolent Yuyan, Divine Emperor of Wuxian, bids that I, his servant, Imperial Marshall Tse Tak-Sohng, show Wuxian's support of your efforts to avenge those lost to the 'Hive'. In his endless wisdom he offers His might to bolster yours. I am at your command."

The RWU delegation included all three of the top military leaders in the Union: Councilor-Admiral Alagh Walayad, Councilor-Marshal Quintus Kazamar, and Field Marshal Andrasa Vilodor. The Wuxianese, the human, the Ayar, and their various aides all wore greatcoats and red-starred caps. As she passed General Kruger, Vilodor eyed the man uncomfortably; just a few cycles ago he had kicked her entire army out of Asteron over some union organizing debacle. Given his already-checkered reputation, she couldn't help but doubt his capacity to lead an international campaign. Yet, desperate times called for desperate measures.
"Comrade Admiral," Walayad began, bowing to the Denovan high officer. She then turned to Imperial Wuxianese delegate. "Comrade Marshal." She went on for the other nations represented with Kazamar and Vilodor mirroring her, saving General Kruger for last. "Comrade General." After the round of brief introductions was over, the little ceremony ended and the RWU delegation sat down.

The Viscarri would send Legate Benivrik of the 2nd Legion. He towered over most of the other delegates in his electric blue power armor. Behind him trailed a small gaggle of imperial officials and a half-squad of legionnaires from the Thunder Born. The Legate swept his gaze across the room. "General Kruger, Marshal Vilodor a pleasure to see you both. Admiral Makovan, Marshal I'm pleased to meet you both." One of his honer guard moved the chair set out at the table and replaced it with a legion field chair that would be sure to hold the weight of a power armored man.

The stark contrasts of which the Asteran and Ayar officer corp viewed RWU meddling in Asteran affairs was precisely why planning a campaign with such unreliable allies was a problem to begin with. If Kruger had his way, the Ayar officers present would've been lined up and shot. Unfortunately, Kruger did not have that luxury.
'' Gentleman and ladies. '' Kruger said standing, offering a small bow to those present.
'' I represent the Asteran General Staff. We all know that the Hive is a problem that cannot be solved in a single day. More importantly, we know that they will be back again. Perhaps not on Asteron. They could strike Denova tomorrow for all we know. The bugs attack with provocation and are driven by the simple desire to feed. This is why a campaign must be directed at their homeworld once and for all to end them. The Asteran military is prepared to put forth four army groups and fleet assets to achieve this result. I would like to see whom is willing to lend troops to this coalition and what each partner nation should be planning within the next two cycles before we prepare for planetfall. ''

Vice-Admiral Makovan looked between the delegates, Katarina silently standing behind her, the Admiralty board had been concerned about the potential threat of the Hive. She approved of Kruger's plan though if she had her way the entire world would be glassed and all traces of the hive eliminated to completely stop the threat.
"The Admiralty can have two frigates ready by the next galactic cycle and potentially two more the cycle after. We have nothing to spare in the way of armies but we'll lend what naval support you need."

"Four destroyers," Admiral Walayad announced, keeping her words to a minimum.
"And three army groups," Marshal Kazamar added. The Revolutionary Workers' Army might have been able to send a fourth, but better not to offer too much lest other threats rise on the horizon...like the Kwazan Conglomerate.

"The Wuxianese fleet cannot be deployed as the aggressors in any engagement according to current Military Code," called out Tak-Sohng, "Though legislation has been pushed through the Secretariat to allow for warships to be deployed as defenders when protecting planets under threat. Further, more legislation is under work, pending the approval of the Yuyan, to allow for the fleet to be deployed in combat situations beyond defense. In either case, a single Nezha-I destroyer is offered up for service as well as additional vessels in the coming year."

"The Empire promises at least 1 frigate and the Thunder Born. More legions and ships may be dedicated to this action at some point in the future." The Legate was just a sparing with his words as the Admiral. Will we also be moving to liberate Nas as well?"

'' Gentleman and Ladies. '' It had been over a year since the coalition partners had met, though the delegates had remained on Asteron to coordinate the efforts of the invasion. The rich deep voice that spoke did not belong to General Kruger or Kayani but instead to President Lukien Saratoga. The former General turned strongman took his seat at the head of the table. '' Zero hour is almost upon us. With the next galactic cycle, Asteron will have completed its preparations and will have the force ready for the assault. Now is the time to begin choosing our force disposition. For the assault on Rak, we must have a unified chain of command for the orbital assault with so many allied ships working in close conjunction. It is therefore that I propose the Denovan Admiralty, lead by Admiral Makovan, take command of the landing operation. We must also decide if the forces avaliable are enough for a simultaneous assault on Nas. Asteron will have over 12 battle groups on hand for its attack. A simultaneous assault while difficult, is not out of the question. The people of Nas deserve liberation. How long shall we wait to give it to them? I have instructed the Asteran Navy to contribute our most powerful ships of the line for the attack. ''

"The Yuyan, in his wisdom, offer three frigates and two destroyers for the engagement," responded the Imperial Marshall of Wuxian, Admiral Tse Tak-Sohng, "We will be aided by forces from Rusevia, currently expected to be an additional Frigate and an army. Training operations are being undertaken between the Rusevian frigate and the Wuxianese destroyers so that they may operate in unison for the coming conflict. The proposal that Vice Admiral Makovan lead the orbital assault is supported. I would, as well, offer myself to coordinate the landing itself and the engagements below; Wuxianese doctrine has provided for the means for a commander in the sky to skillfully coordinate terrestrial operations with a bird's eye view."

'' While Wuxianese support will is much appreciated, General Kruger and General Russon will have command of Asteran terrestrial operations on Rak. '' Saratoga said firmly but respectfully. The General had staked his electoral success on this mission. Nationalism and politics were playing key factions in this upcoming attack as much as anything else. '' Naturally, we shall form a liaison between our individual command staffs to share information as it becomes available and coordinate our forces. '' The Asteran's had already been butting head with the Ayar over whom would have operational control of the forces on the ground, with Asteron increasing its forces drastically, it was bound to get even more messy. '' Though, I'm sure my commanders will be listening intently to whatever you can share Marshal. Your experience will be invaluable. I would put your name forward to command operations on Nas, if we decide to launch a simultaneous attack. '' With the forces being committed there smaller in number, so would the stakes. '' Though that will depend on what ground forces the Viscarri and RWU can muster. ''

"The RWU is in agreement with the Union of Asteron," stated Marshal Kazamar flatly. "Autonomous but cooperative command structures are the best route, given the number of commanders each of our nations has available for the campaign. For its part, the Revolutionary Guard will commit all five of its army groups to the effort, and a sixth army group of Federal People's Militia veterans from the last Hive invasion will participate as well."
Admiral Walayad added, "The Revolutionary Workers' Navy will contribute five vessels, constituting one hunter-reaper group squadron. However, as the second largest fleet contributor, we request command autonomy in the same manner as the land operation. Perhaps I can direct the attack against Nas while Admiral Makovan directs an attack against Rak?"

"A matter of importance notified to me by the Chancellor," replied the Marshall once more, "The Yuyan's Benevolent Bureaucracy is requesting that the system bordering our colony-system of Gwacheon be ceded to the Empire upon it's conquest. If necessary, Wuxian will provide the troops to take the world."
